Sangha Day is one of three annual festival days honouring the Three Jewels of Buddhism: the Buddha, the Dharma (the teachings), and the Sangha (the spiritual community). Join us for a day of rejoicing in the Sangha — the community of practitioners who walk the path together, guiding and inspiring one another.
We’ll begin with our usual Saturday morning meditation class, followed by a shared lunch. The afternoon will feature talks and reflections on the importance of community in our spiritual lives, before ending the day with a puja (Buddhist ritual), in with Cathy will be having her mitra ceremony. Mitra is a Sanskrit word for 'friend', and the ceremony marks a person's commitment to practicing the Buddha's teachings within our community.
See our programme below for the timetable, and attend for as much of the day as you like. Whether you’re a regular at our centre or simply curious, all are warmly invited to join us in this joyful celebration of the Sangha!
