Men's+ Weekend Retreat

Friday 15 May – Sunday 17 May at Wesburn Recreation Camp

Step away from the noise. Slow down. Breathe.

Join us for a grounded weekend retreat designed to restore clarity, purpose, and inner strength.

Develop mental clarity and emotional stability with simple, powerful daily practices rooted in Buddhist wisdom. Share in a sense of brotherhood through shared silence with other men, with space to reflect on our life direction and purpose.

This retreat blends silence, seated meditation, ritual, reflective discussion, and time in nature. No prior meditation experience needed—just a willingness to turn inward.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Buddhist retreat?

This is a chance to get to know yourself and the world around you, without the distractions of modern life.

Do I need to be a Buddhist / meditator?

You don’t need to be a Buddhist to benefit from our retreats, but we will be practising the Buddha’s teachings.

Ideally, you will be familiar with our meditation practices (the mindfulness of breathing and metta bhavana), and confident with sitting for up to 45 minutes.

What does the cost include?

Food and administration costs are included in the price.

The cost has been kept to a minimum, and the retreat leaders and organisers are volunteers.

Can I Come for Part of the Retreat?

It’s important that you be there for the whole retreat, so that you and others can get the most out of the experience. If that won’t be possible, please get in touch with us before booking.

What’s the Accommodation Like?

The venue has simple but comfortable accommodation, with dormitory-style bedrooms and bunk beds. The venue has shared bathroom facilities with toilets and showers, separate from the bedrooms.

Part of the retreat experience is getting to live communally. We’ll eat, cook and clean up together, which is a great way to care for one another and become friends.

If it’s not possible for you to help with a light job each day, please contact us before booking.

Indoor beds are limited, so single sleeping quarters are not usually possible.

What’s the Food Like?

As part of our commitment to non-violence, we offer vegan food on our retreats.

If you have dietary restrictions not listed on the booking form, do let us know.

Please don’t bring along meat, fish, alcohol or recreational drugs.

What Should I Bring?

You’ll need to bring your own bedding: sheets, blankets and a pillow.

Make sure also to bring any medication and toiletries you need, including a towel.

Since we discourage the use of mobile phones, you might find it helpful to bring a torch and a watch. A notebook and pen might also come in handy.

In cold weather, we recommend bringing an extra blanket for meditation.

In warm weather, consider what you’ll need in terms of sun protection and hiking shoes.
