An online, weekend retreat for Oceania timezones, exploring dhyana (meditative absorption). Led by experienced Buddhist practitioner, Bodhipaksa.
Dhyana, or meditative absorption, is an important part of the Buddha’s teaching. He even described it as 'the path to awakening’. But most people's experience of dhyana is somewhere between elusive and non-existent.
Over the past 30 years or so, Bodhipaksa has been evolving a step-by-step approach to making dhyana accessible. On this three-day retreat, he will introduce what he calls the three foundations of dhyana — calmness, aliveness, and joy — which feed into and support each other, leading to a stable state of calm, energised, and joyful absorption.
While there’s no guarantee that dhyana will manifest for you during this retreat, it’s almost certain that you’ll experience considerable progress in that direction, and learn approaches to meditating that mean your practice will never be the same again.
