30 March 2026Dear friends,
We are fortunate to be having visits from the two International Order Convenors to Melbourne: Vajrapriya and Saraka. They land on 15 April, visit Skyrock 16 — 17 April, & are in Melbourne from Saturday 18 April — Thursday 23 April.
Jnanagarbha, the Convenor of the International Council, will also be visiting Melbourne from Sunday 10 May — Friday 15 May.
Please Save the Date: Sunday April 19
As part of the International Order Convenors’ visits, we're holding an Order & Mitra event on Sunday April 19, 2026. The Order will meet in the morning, with Mitras joining in the afternoon.

Vajrapriya
International Order Convenor & Trustee of the Triratna Trust
Vajrapriya was ordained in 2002, and spent most of his Dharma life working in the Cambridge Buddhist Centre, UK. He moved to Shrewsbury in 2016 with his partner, Vajradevi, to help out with the Centre there. He was invited to be Regional Order Convenor for the men’s Midlands region, and then the Order delegate for the UK & Ireland.
He worked for the International Order Office as the manager for a few years from 2016, and rejoined in 2021 as a trustee of the associated charity, the Triratna Trust, and then its Chair.
Vajrapriya loves the opportunity of being involved with so many dedicated and inspiring Dharma practitioners, while serving this institution of our Order, which exists to strengthen the “mycelial network” of kalyana mitrata within the Order.

Saraka
International Order Convenor
On 20th January the Order Office announced that Saraka's consultation had concluded and she'll be joining Vajrapriya as International Order Convenor. She will start in post in March 2026.
This appointment completes a lengthy process overseen by Amritamati, Sucimani, Saddhanandi and Vajrapriya, and made in consultation with the Order world-wide. The appointment kula are grateful to the many Order members who gave their suggestions and feedback in this intensive endeavour.
Saraka, who hails from New Zealand, was ordained in Il Convento in Tuscany, Italy in 2003 and currently lives in London, UK. She will move to Adhisthana, UK shortly before starting her new post as International Order Convenor alongside Vajrapriya.

Jñānagarbha
Convenor of the International Council
Jñānagarbha started attending the Bristol Centre in 1992, and soon became centre manager. After Ordination in 1998, he moved to Rivendell Retreat Centre, and went on to become chair of the Croydon Centre.
In 2006 he became a father and supported himself through a curious combination of coaching, consultancy and carpentry.
Jñānagarbha returned to working for Triratna in 2025, as Convenor for the International Council. In his work he helps to join up the Triratna community across the world and across all our many activities, to support the flow of spiritual friendship, to help us coordinate and cooperate together, and help to keep Triratna a vibrant, healthy and growing spiritual community.
