Hello, we are offering two paid positions or one paid position for both roles at the MBC. We envisage the bookkeeper role would be a one-day a week role, and the administration role 2-3 days a week. These are important positions in making sure we can operate and support all we do at the MBC. As well as paying you support, working at a centre is a great way to grow and develop along the path and help our dharma community.
Bookkeeper Role
Working in the centre team, the bookkeeper role is to manage the day-to-day finances, reporting and bookkeeping at the MBC.
Responsibilities include:
- Accounts payable, receivable, BAS submission
- Keeping transactions up-to-date in accounting software
- Banking/ cash management
- Payroll and Superannuation
- Utilising computer systems to input or gather information
- Filing, keeping up stock of printed materials
- Customer service – answering phone, email and greeting visitors and answering questions
- Keeping centre clean and tidy
Experience
Ideally, experience with Accounting software such as Quickbooks, Xero, MYOB or similar.
Money handling.
Administrator Role
Working in the centre team, the admin role involves the day-to-day running of the MBC.
- Coordinate and carry out office administration.
- Coordinate events and meeting event leaders’ requirements.
- Respond to incoming communication in a timely manner.
- Coordinate teams, volunteers and group visits.
- Maintain supplies of the Centre’s consumables.
- Help manage the bookshop.
- Help with developing the programme of classes, courses, retreats and other events in conjunction with the Chair.
Both these positions are paid positions, with superannuation, holiday leave, and free attendance at all MBC events and retreats. We can discuss details with interested people once they have expressed an interest.
