Introduction to Meditation Course
Wednesday October 26 , 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
This 6-week course will introduce you to meditation by exploring two fundamental Buddhist practices – the Mindfulness of Breathing, and the Metta Bhavana (cultivation of loving-kindness). Learn about the basics of posture and concentration; integration and the development of positive emotion; ethics as the foundation of meditation; and hindrances to our practice. Join experienced Buddhist practitioner Buddhadasa in engaging with this practical course in meditation.
Each week there will be talks, practice, discussion in small groups, space to workshop ideas, as well as home practice so you can start to see the benefits of meditation in your daily life. Suitable for those new to meditation or wanting to expand their knowledge.
Come along for free meditation sessions at the MBC for the duration of the course.
