Buddha Day Festival

You are warmly invited to celebrate Buddha Day among friends at the MBC on Saturday 6th May. Buddha Day, also known as Wesak, is the most important day of the year on the Buddhist calendar and is celebrated by Buddhists around the world. It marks the historical moment approximately 2600 years ago when Siddhartha Gautama awakened to become the Buddha. Please join us to celebrate and have gratitude for the life of the Buddha whose Enlightenment revealed the potential for all human beings to experience freedom from suffering.

This year our theme is ‘The Four Sights and Going Forth Into The Spiritual Life’.

The program for the day:

11-12pm Meditation

12-1pm Lunch 

1-2pm Talks on the theme by Manjusiddha, Anica Niepraschk and Tom Hope

2-3pm Creative activity facilitated by Julie McDonald

3-3.30pm Afternoon Tea

3.30pm Puja (Musicians please bring your instruments!)


In person at the MBC/ By Donation (Give what you can)

Feel free to wear an accent of yellow to represent the magnificent yellow Buddha jewel.

Please bring a plate of vegetarian/vegan food to share; a musical instrument if you’d like to play one in the puja; and your friends and family!
