We consider you a regular if you’ve learnt the meditation practices taught in Triratna Centres around the world and want to continue to practise with us. At regulars night we incorporate more traditional Buddhist practices, particularly devotional activities such as saluting the shrine, making offerings and puja (worship). Some of us respond immediately to these heart-opening practices, for others of us it can take a bit of coming to understand the purpose of devotional practice in a Buddhist context – but there’s always someone to ask in the tea break!
Thursday evening activities are open to regulars, and also to newcomers who attend the drop-in meditation session.
- 7:30 Meditation (Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana practice on alternate weeks)
- 8:30 Tea break
- 8:45 Dharma talk, discussion, puja or workshop
- 9:30 Close
We ask a $15 donation ($8 concession). If you are not sure whether this is for you, join the 7.30pm drop-in meditation and stay on for the second half of the evening.
