“Open to Life” On the Page: Writing and Receptivity
Sunday July 14, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The ‘mandala approach’ to the Triratna system of practice places spiritual receptivity at the centre of the mandala. In Vessantara’s words, ‘this means that at the heart of the spiritual life is this open, receptive awareness that is not seeing everything in terms of its use value for the self, but values, appreciates and enjoys things, people and qualities for their own sake’.
Emphasising openness to the mind’s natural creativity, this day retreat explores creative writing as means of cultivating spiritual receptivity, and enjoying the surprises it can bring. The cost includes a warming lunch.
