Fit Mind, Free Heart: A Practical Course in Buddhism

8 Week Course, Starting 22 February

Immerse yourself in Buddhist principles and practices during this eight-week journey aimed at strengthening the mind and freeing the heart. During this course, we will take on practical week-by-week exercises, focusing on cultivating mindful awareness, integrating and simplifying our lives, and truly being ourselves.

The course is based on the book  ‘The Journey and the Guide’ written by prize winning poet, best-selling author, and member of the Triratna Buddhist Order, Maitreyabandhu. This book offers a challenging but profoundly useful approach on how Buddhism can transform our everyday life. Here is a little taste of what to expect:

“The natural mode of consciousness is to expand. In every moment we can either allow consciousness to unfold or we can make it “me” and “mine” and feel it shrink back to the level of egocentricity. It is as if we have identified with a tiny ripple on the surface of the ocean. Once we let go of that identification there is the whole ocean: centerless, edgeless, completely free.”
